8. CSUN JEWISH STUDIES PROGRAM:
\"The Girl on the Train\"
free sneak preview - Followed by Q & A and discussion led by CSUN Jewish Studies faculty

Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 7:30 pm (94 minutes)
Laemmle\'s Town Center 5 17200 Ventura Blvd., Encino

This feature film is French director André Téchiné\'s cinematic treatment of a real event from 2004: a young French woman invented a story about being attacked on a train by black and Arab youths who mistook her for a Jew, creating a media uproar that drew in the President of France. This psychological portrayal of the girl and the people in her life is sensitive and artful. Suita ble for adults and older teens. In French with English subtitles. Limited seating.
Contact the Jewish Studies Program at jewish.studies@csun.edu or (818) 677-4724 to RSVP or with any questions you have regarding this event.

9. The Bagel Brigade Needs Your Help!
The B'nai B'rith Bagel Brigade helps to feed children whose families cannot afford to purchase breakfast foods. We pick up day-old baked goods from supermarkets and bakeries and deliver them to schools. We are seeking volunteers at the Van Nuys Costco on Sepulveda near Victory from 7am to 9am EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK to help unload and distribute the baked goods. We also need help with pickup and deliveries. To do a mitzvah, please contact Adam.

The Bagel Brigade also collects un-needed cell phones, dead or alive, which we trade in for quality breakfast cereals for hungry children. Call Hillel at (818) 886-5101 to donate your cell phones.
